Research Assistant/Research Fellow
Work, Interaction and Technology Research Group

The Management Centre is seeking a Research Fellow or Research Assistant to join the Work, Interaction and Technology Research Group for up to two and half years. The position is funded by grants from the UK research councils. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake video-based ethnographic studies concerned with the ways in which tools and technologies, object and artefacts, feature in conduct and social interaction. The research may include studies of museums and galleries and in particular of the ways in which people examine and discuss works of art and decorative art, or a workplace study, including, for example, research on auctions and auctioneering. An interest in ethnomethodology and conversation analysis is of relevance to the position. Applications from those with a background in the social sciences, computer sciences or the humanities will be considered, however applicants will be expected to have research experience and familiarity with research methods.
